![]() ![]() Telephone companies on the other hands haven't installed Fiber optic lines everywhere so their higher speed internet services aren't available in rural or less populated area and not necessarily poor. ![]() ![]() Sorry to be off topic, but fiber optic cables in America were installed almost 20 years ago by all cable companies and that's practically all of America where people can subscribe to cable TV including poor and rich neighborhoods. I have no doubt that Keyscape will also be the creme of the crop for its intended purpose. Getting back to topics, I love Trilogy and Omnisphere. From my Google Drive I can download 100 Gig of my personal files in roughly two hours (that's about 9-10 mb/sec about 9 dvds in one hour) using cable internet that's roughly 40 dollars per month. ![]() I live in a rural area where only cable internet is available but the speed is practically only limited by my computer and the website server. Actually most if not all poor neighborhood in urban areas have availability of both and those in poor rural areas have access to cable. All cable companies in America are currently using Fiber optic cables. Plus the price is typically double current Cable Internet.) Maybe soon we'll enjoy optical cable downloads of 100GB in no time, but here in America, its going to cities and rich neighborhoods first and will trickle down over years as it's not profitable to install everywhere if there aren't enough users to poorer neighborhoods. I'd be surprised if companies are setup to exceed 30 Gbps currently, so it's paying for a lot of bandwidth that can't be used for Residential purposes.Īs to Spectrasonic, I'd love to see Orchestral offerings (violins, saxaphones, etc) Meanwhile, my Motif Rack XS is perfectly fine for all uses, and I'm somewhat interested in selling that and my old Yamaha KX88 for a MOXF8 where the parameters are more tweak-able and usable (split keyboard) After selling those units, the complete package would be about $500 out of pocket, so getting $400 in software has to compete with studio upgrades that are more immediate and pleasing for my experience in playing (and keeping the engineering hat OFF more often!) Plus the price is typically double current Cable Internet. Which begs the question: are they offering a Thumb Drive or SSD Drive with the software? I can't wait for the day that I don't have to keep a lot of Legacy CD's hanging around to reinstall these everytime I buy a new system (with the iMac and MacBook I do have backups so that typically solves that problem, but I mean a fresh install to a new system, which would be almost every new OS for PC currently) I have all of Spectrasonics software and have used them on PC and Mac to rather flawless performance. You're only as good as your Engine, for sure. ![]()
